We can now offer for sale both the McIntosh and the Pickersgill LMS version of this kit. The kit is available with a OO, EM and S4 chassis so you'll need to specify which kit you want at the time of ordering.
We can offer Modified Gibson wheel sets for our kits with the correct crankpin throw. The cost of modifying the driving wheels is an additional £2.50 per driving wheel.
We can supply Coreless motors with our kits.
The chassis is compensated and load bearing on all 8- wheels. Custom horn blocks and compensation beams are used on the bogie. The main chassis has our own design of gearbox which is part of the compensation mechanism and no matter what the driving wheels are doing the gearbox will move along with the wheels and the gears will always be in mesh. The reduction ratio is a very efficient 46:1 so you don't have to worry about finding a gearbox, there's one included in the kit.
The model was designed with ease of assembly our main objective and we've used more expensive 0.38mm Nickel silver for the body and the chassis making the model extremely robust and not prone to accidental damage. Nickel silver is far easier to solder than brass and more user friendly for the beginner and the experienced modeller.
The instructions are very comprehensive and much use is made of 3D drawings that are a true record every step in the process of how we assembled both the chassis and the body. Any point in the diagrams that may be more tricky than the drawing would suggest is covered by a description in the Assembly Diagram notes.
Please note that we don't ask for money up front. You'll be sent a request for payment by BACS Transfer between Bank Accounts only when your order is ready for despatch.
The cost of the basic kit is £112.95. A Modified Gibson wheel set costs £42.00. Coreless 1219 motors can be supplied for an additional £27.50, wheels and motors are post free if ordered with the kit.
The initial response to this kit has been better than we could have anticipated. EM/P4 modellers seem to be attracted to this kit, so much so that our stock of S4 wheels is exhausted and there will be a pause in deliveries until we receive a new delivery of wheels.
